I am a plus size breastfeeding Mama and have struggled to find a nursing cover that I like. The first one I tried it was too small and I didn't feel covered at all. My second cover I liked well enough but after Aniala started getting more active she could easily pull at it and I would be exposed. While I don't have a problem with women nursing in public I am to uncomfortable to do it myself - even though I have done it when I have forgotten my cover. LaDy LaDuke's Feeder Frock is the most unique nursing cover I have ever seen. First of all they are made in all kinds of different styles with bows or ruffles of all sizes. The one I choose has a wonderful pocket which I love since it gives me a place to store my nursing pad. It is a large pocket and can hold a burp cloth, pacifier, cell phone, or whatever you need.
The second unique thing is the Feeder Frock covers the back too! On the back panel there are ribbons to tie it around your waist so it stays put. The front cover is wide enough to wrap to the back keeping your sides covered. The front and back panels are connected with straps so you just simply slide it over your head to put it on. I love that it covers the front and the back. I was wearing two shirts because I didn't like having my back hang out. The Feeder Frock is made of lightweight material so it is much cooler than wearing two shirts.
The third unique feature is the neckline on the front of the Feeder Frock. It has memory wire in there so you can shape it the way you would like. You can flatten it or shape it so you can peek in on your baby. Not only that but it can be removed for washing! LaDy LaDuke has built in a little velcro closure at one of the ends of the memory wire and it comes in and out very easily. I thought that was genius because with one of my other covers even though it says it could be washed the neckline didn't hold up well and the boning or whatever is in that one pokes me now.
I am in love with the Feeder Frock! It has allowed me to comfortably leave the house again. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but Aniala was raising her hand up and pulling at the Feeder Frock. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't uncover me! She thought is was hysterical too and kept laughing every time I peeked in on her.
I do have to mention LaDy LaDuke service too. I was completely impressed by the turn around time of a custom order. I received the Feeder Frock exactly 9 days after my first communication with them. That includes shipping time! I thought for sure I would be waiting a few weeks. I am also very impressed by the quality of the Feeder Frock. It is very well made.
