Smart-Sax was created as an answer to the need for fun, affordable and stylish alternatives to the everyday plastic bag.

We at Smart-Sax are appalled at the way plastics affect not only our planet and the animals on it, but our families and ourselves, as they gain more and more of a foothold into our everyday lives.

Plastic bags take a minimum of 500 years to break down into an acceptable matter that is recyclable.  There is currently a huge area in the Pacific Ocean that is a floating mess of trash, and most of that trash is plastic.  Fish and birds don't know it isn't edible, so they ingest it and die.

We at Smart-Sax decided to try to make our mark by replacing that plastic with an acceptable and affordable alternative. We look for companies that believe as we do, and create relationships with organizations that positively impact our environment.

Smart-Sax generously sent us two of their Animal Friends bags and a Handbag Insert for review.  The animals bags we received are even cuter in person.  I was really surprised at how big the bag folds out to be, but it is a full size shopping bag.  I love they have a clip on them so I clip them to my diaper bag and I am never without them.  That has been my biggest problem using reusable shopping bags, I always forget them.  They are so cute they have even came in handy for us when Aniala has gotten fussy while out and about and we needed something to distract her.  Korben loves to play grocery shopping with them at home too. 

Smart-Sax carries other styles of these bags too including some fashion ones if you aren't into the cutesy animals.  Their newest product is a Jack-O-Lantern bag for trick or treating!  This is so much better than those big plastic pumpkins.  They are better for the earth and much easier to store plus they can hold so much more candy!  Smart-Sax only has a limited quantity of the Jack-O-Lantern bags so get them while you can.  

The handbag insert we received from Smart-Sax is very deceiving.  I thought there was no way it would hold everything I wanted it to hold.  I wanted to use it for my diaper bag since I never seem to have enough pockets and I hate digging around in what seems like a bottomless pit.  I was really surprised when I was able to fit everything I wanted in there plus more and I even have a few pockets I didn't even use!  The handbag insert is awesome and I can always find my stuff now.
