Charlie Banana Cloth Diaper Review

We were recently given the opportunity to review a Charlie Banana cloth diaper.  I choose to review a one size Charlie Banana diaper in their adorable butterfly print but they also have sized diapers.  The Charlie Banana are a 2 in 1 system.  This means you can use them as a pocket diaper with their microfiber inserts or you can use them with their biodegradable disposable pads.  

We received the diaper, three microfiber inserts, a double layer wipe, and a handful of biodegradable disposable pads.  The Charlie Banana diaper has a front pocket opening and the one size diapers have adjustable leg elastic.  When using the reusable inserts you simply stuff the pocket and you are good to go.  When using the disposable pads you simply tuck one end under the front flap opening to help it stay in place.  

I was so happy when we first got this diapering system because shortly after we received it Aniala got her first diaper rash at 11 months old.  Boy it was a nasty rash too.  I am sure it was from sitting in wet diaper a little more than she was used to.  It happened right when I went into the hospital and I know Brent had his plate full with both kids and trying to work from home plus coming to visit me in the hospital.  I am sure Aniala's diaper didn't get changed as often as it is normally changed.  Anyway I know they make cloth diaper safe diaper cream but I don't have any and have been too afraid to try it anyway.  I did however have some other diaper cream on hand from back before we started using cloth on Korben.  I used the disposable pads we received from Charlie Banana with their diaper and then we just diaper covers.  Aniala is allergic to disposable diapers but had no problems with the Charlie Banana disposable pads.  

I love the fit of the Charlie Banana diaper although I wish the rise was just a tiny bit higher.  Aniala has a long torso so I have this wish on almost every single cloth diaper.  The Charlie Banana diaper is a lot trimmer than most of the diapers we have and it is a great fit on Aniala.  Because of their adjustable leg elastic I can get a really good fit on Aniala.  She has a skinny waist and chunky thighs.  Their diaper is very absorbent too and holds up well overnight.  I am a big fan of the Charlie Banana diaper!
